In this issue of The Lady : Dear Readers, For those of you who are not following the trials and tribulations of the Granthams, I must apologise for what might appear to be an overindulgence in Downton mania here at Bedford Street. But the reality is that there is little we can do to stem the flow of our enthusiasm, as The Lady seems to appear in nearly every episode. This week we are able to reveal the beauty secrets of the ladies in the cast and reprint the elegant, eminently sensible advice The Lady first meted out to modern readers in our 1925 beauty pages. Some things never date, including the tried-and-tested jokes of Jimmy Tarbuck and his old pal Des O’Connor as they prepare to take to the stage of the London Palladium for charity. But it isn’t just those two old troupers who are doing their best for charity, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we are fully supporting those organisations, big and small, who make a difference all year round. Lady Loves offers some beautiful treats, which will also do some good; a win-win, as they say. Meanwhile, if you are looking for a ‘pet’ with a difference,
might I suggest you knit yourself a cuddly dinosaur? Or even several? Who could resist creating their very own pterodactyl? Until next week, best wishes Sam Taylor, Editor
