In this issue of Woman's Weekly - UK : When I started looking for a house to buy (as I wrote about in a previous issue), I expected the whole painful process to take
many, many months at best. So imagine my surprise when just
three months into my search I not only found the perfect property, but one that was actually within my 'for London somewhat limited’ budget. Even more remarkably, it was just three weeks to the day from the moment I saw it for the first time to the moment I took possession. From such a whistle-stop start, things have, predictably, slowed down as I wait for plans to be drawn up and submitted to the council for the work I want to do to it. But that has given me time to think about the really important stuff - like what colours I want the walls (see below), what sort of taps I want in the bathroom and what equipment I want to put in the kitchen. Goodness, there’s a lot of choice, isn’t there? My mobile phone is suddenly packed with pictures of hobs, sinks and extractor fans. Fortunately, our excellent Expert Q&A page this week (page 37) is all about microwaves, so that’s one decision easily made! Phew! Diane Kenwood, Editor
