Winter 2018 : Page 1

The Bark December 01, 2018 00:00

In this issue of The Bark : Here we are nearing the end of 2018. It’s hard to believe how speedily the year whizzed past. It’s been a tough one for our country, but if there is one abiding truth, it’s that we can trust in the love our dogs give us. They’re a perfect antidote to all the political posturing, aren’t they? Putting together a magazine is a lot of work, but it has some upsides. One of them is the opportunity to share insights and discoveries that we think will benefit our readers. For example, in this issue, you’ll find my article about my quest to make affordable and nutritionally balanced fresh food for my dogs. Another plus is the opportunity to share a new literary talent. We also feature two artists whose creations are very different, but equally fascinating. In the “news you can use” category, behavior expert Karen London looks at oxytocin, which many of you know as the love hormone. Some magazines use direct mail or buy lists from brokers to enhance their subscriber base, but we take a more organic approach, looking to our readers to spread the word about The Bark. We wish you all a joyous and fulfilling holiday season, and hope to see again next year, as we inch closer to issue 100!
